Avenoir

Tock, tick. Tock, tick.
What if we lived life backwards?
Instead of making memories,
We watched them approach, then fade away?
We would know which days are important.
And wait for them to become reality.
We would prepare for our embarrassing moments and our heartbreaks.
We'll know the jokes, but laugh anyways.
We'll laugh the hardest the last time we hear it.
Giving everything the final hurrah it deserves.
We always remember the first times, but never the lasts.
Why can't we look forward to the milestones in our lives, instead of back?
We would live to forget.
Leaving some baggage at every stop.
Eventually, our hands will be free.
Free enough to climb up the jungle gym, or swing from a tree.
Our worries would melt away.
And our childhood wonder would come out to play.
BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE THIS WORLD WITH REGRETS!
When I leave this world, I want to know that I've given it everything that I've got.
Tock, tick. Tock, tick.
Avenoir.
